The 27th Australian Conference on Microscopy and Microanalysis (ACMM27), see http://www.acmm27.org, at the University Club of Western Australia, Perth from 29th January – 2nd February 2023.

The Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society Inc. (AMMS Inc.) is pleased to offer bursaries to AMMS members to assist them to attend ACMM27. Bursaries are available to all AMMS members, including facility staff that make up a significant percentage of our members. The selection committee may under some circumstances give priority to research higher degree students (RHDS), early career researchers (ECR) (within 5 years of being awarded their PhD at time of conference), junior technical staff (JTS) (within 5 years of commencing employment in this role at time of conference) and MCRs (within 5-15 years of being awarded their PhD at time of conference), particularly where the applicant has indicated that they have no other source of funds or supporting funds.

Approximately 30 bursaries will be awarded to cover the cost of a regular early-bird registration and partially cover travel and/or accommodation costs for interstate/international delegates. A sliding scale will be applied depending on location of your institution, with the maximum bursary expected to cover the registration fee plus up to $500.

Applicants are encouraged to be presenting authors of talks, posters or to be involved in delivering a workshop at the conference. Bursaries will be awarded based on the scientific quality of the abstract (if submitted), workshop involvement and/ the applicant’s track record (i.e., employment history or publication record) as appropriate.
