AMMS is pleased to offer bursaries to assist our Australian members in attending the biannual AMMS conferences.
How to apply
Email your application/nomination with supporting documentation to the AMMS Secretary. Applicants for all awards must be financial members of AMMS. Bursaries deadlines are aligned with the conference deadlines. The next ACMM conference coincides with the International Microscopy Congress, which will take place in September 2018. For conference key dates see our Events page or the relevant conference website.
The 19th International Microscopy Congress (IMC19) will be held in conjunction with the 25th Australian Conference on Microscopy and Microanalysis (ACMM25), see http://www.imc19.com, at the International Convention Centre, Sydney from 9-14 September 2018.
The Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society Inc. (AMMS Inc.) is pleased to offer bursaries to AMMS members who are Australian or New Zealand residents to assist them to attend IMC19/ACMM25. Bursaries are available to research higher degree students (RHDS), early career researchers (ECR) (within 5 years of being awarded their PhD at time of conference), and junior technical staff (JTS) (within 5 years of commencing employment in this role at time of conference).
Approximately 50 bursaries will be awarded to cover the cost of a regular early-bird registration and partially cover travel and/or accommodation costs for interstate/international delegates. A sliding scale will be applied depending on location of your institution, with the maximum bursary expected to cover the registration fee plus up to $500.
All applicants must be presenting authors of talks or posters at the conference. Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of the scientific quality of the abstract and the applicant’s track record.
