Volume Imaging Symposium
Volume Imaging Symposium
16th – 19th of February 2021
FULLY ONLINE – 4 half-days
VIS 2021 encompasses all forms of imaging and analyses involving the generation of 3D volumetric data in all branches of science. This includes, but is not limited to, LIGHT, ELECTRON and X-RAY imaging modalities and the associated visualisation and analysis approaches common to these techniques.
Theme 1 – VOLUME IMAGING WITH ELECTRONS – Chair Richard Webb (UQ)
Theme 2 – VOLUME IMAGING WITH LIGHT – Chair Stephen Firth (Monash)
Theme 3 – VOLUME IMAGING WITH X-RAYS – Chair Adrian Shepard (ANU)
Theme 4 – CORRELATIVE IMAGING WITH VOLUMES – Chair Filip Braet (USyd)
The program is currently in draft. Anticipated sessions currently include “Technique in Focus” talks, which will comprise presentations from experts in specific instrumentation (For example, data acquisition and/or sample preparation). There will also be “Problem Solver” sessions, which we expect to cover data analysis approaches to common problems (For example, pore analysis, segmentation, etc). Time will also be allocated to scientific presentations and there are limited times dedicated to presentations from instrument/software vendors.
