Workshop Information

Workshops will be held prior to the meeting, on Monday the 5th and Tuesday the 6th of February, at the University of Queensland, Brisbane (Note: UQ, not QUT).

The provisional list of workshop topics for AMAS XVI are:

Monday 5th of February

  • Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) — full day
  • Cathodoluminescence spectroscopy (CL) — half day
  • Synchrotron techniques — half day
  • Transmmission electron microscopy (TEM) — full day
  • Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) — half day
  • SEM maintenance — half day
  • Focussed ion beam (FIB) — full day day

Tuesday 6th of February

  • Monte carlo modelling in e-beam techniques — full day
  • Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) — full day
  • Automated mineralogy — full day
  • Laser ablation – inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICPMS) — full day
  • Microscopy and microanalysis of biological/soft-matter specimens — half day
  • Secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) — half day
